Flawless Skin Favourites

Autumn, my favourite season but also the one which plays the most havoc with my face. Now that my American glow has faded it has left room for dry and dull skin. However, that being said - I think I've found a combination which is helping my skin through these brisk days.

The main focus behind flawless skin is most obviously skincare, whilst I normally concentrate my spending efforts around cleansers - here's a few different products I've picked up which I'm finding are doing my autumn skin wonders.

the line up

I'll start off in the order I use these products, starting with The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane. I picked up a few bits from The Ordinary a few months ago in the excitement over their incredibly decent price tags. This is a standout oil to me and from what I can tell has done absolute wonders for my face. A little dose of the oil goes a long way, whilst it doesn't soak up super quickly into the skin - it doesn't take too long and it leaves my skin feeling a lot less thirsty.

Another product from The Ordinary that I have been coveting is The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% - which sold me with the promise of brighter skin. Honestly, I was not sure at first where this product would stand on my bathroom shelf but it's turned into a daily use for me. Once The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane has settled in I massage a pea-sized portion of this Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% around my face - concentrating on my cheeks (the dullest part). After using it over a few months I have noticed a significant change in my day to day skin, whilst it may not be the glow I'm dreaming of - It's certainly less dull.

Next up is my newest purchase as you might remember from the Glossier First Impressions post, is the Glossier Priming Moisturiser. This product has changed my skin, for the first time in a long time I've found a moisturiser which does it all for me. Other moisturisers I have used over the past few years in this season have either left my face greasy, or worse - with dry patches forming around the obvious areas. This one has managed to create the fine line between moisture and a smooth finish ready for a little foundation. I can see this moisturiser seeing me right through the winter.

Lastly, moving slightly away from skincare is the NARS Tinted Moisturiser, this product got me through America and has managed to carry on lasting. Whilst I don't rely on it everyday, It's one of my favourite go to products for those days when a full-coverage foundation isn't needed. It's cover up is minimal but good enough if my skin is behaving. Probably my favourite part of this tinted moisturiser is the added glow, something that is desperately needed in on these gloomy days.
